ARO Block 1 Fits Right in at a Boston Pizza Outpost
At the hip new South End outpost of Area Four, an abstract installation of ARO Block 1 in orange hues hints to their pizzas fired in a snazzy Maine Wood Heat oven. The designers at Schwartz/Silver Architects looked to create a retro vibe to compliment the vintage televisions and vinyl spun from one of the owner’s record collections. However, the dramatic, double-height space proved to be a challenge in terms of acoustics in a busy restaurant. ARO Block 1 allows flexibility as well as the opportunity for playful patterning and color with sound absorption. The triangular tiles offer the ability to install in varied configurations and switch it up later, should the mood strike.
