Instrument

Wool felt soaks up sound where work goes on without walls

Holst Architecture’s design for the new offices of the web design and branding agency, Instrument, was a ‘workplace without walls’. When the chief creative officer literally says, ‘If I sit on this southwest corner, I want to see the person on the northwest corner’, what do you do? You build an open studio and central atrium. A totally open office fosters collaboration and the creative process but, let’s be honest, everyone needs a little alone time. To create spaces where employees could hunker down to focus, individual sitting nooks feature soft seating and are draped in 100% Wool Design Felt. Elsewhere, 100% Wool Design Felt lines conference room walls in a natural grey felt to add the softness of a natural material.

In addition to providing felt by the yard, FilzFelt offers a number of cut felt options including CNC cut and Roll cut Design felt. For more information on FilzFelt’s full custom capabilities, please visit About Custom.
