Wool Felt Soaks Up Sound Where Work Goes on Without Walls

Holst Architecture’s design for the new offices of the web design and branding agency, Instrument, was a ‘workplace without walls’. When the chief creative officer literally says, ‘If I sit on this southwest corner, I want to see the person on the northwest corner’, what do you do? You build an open studio and central atrium. A totally open office fosters collaboration and the creative process but, let’s be honest, everyone needs a little alone time. To create spaces where employees could hunker down to focus, individual sitting nooks feature soft seating and are draped in 5mm Wool Design Felt. Elsewhere, 3mm Wool Design Felt lines conference room walls in a natural grey felt to add the softness of a natural material.
